Throughout my life, I have encountered many people. Many who have watched me grow, helped me grow, and others who simply wanted to see me fail.
The way I see it, there are certain people that God puts in our lives for a specific purpose. It could be a blessin', or a lesson, as I've always heard it.
Judas betrayed Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. Judas was still a part of the Last Supper even though Jesus knew he would betray him. Jesus allowed him to be a part of the communion and washed his feet, even though He knew Judas' intentions.
This is an important lesson to be taken from the Bible because Jesus showed unconditional love toward the one who would deny him, and betray him. Someone who walked closely with Him.
Although many may fail us, betray us, speak badly on us, and wrongly accuse us of things we will never understand, we should always love our neighbors, even those who treat us poorly. It is our duty to love everyone the way Jesus loved us on the cross because He died for us all. The Bible says to love your neighbor as yourself, Jesus teaches us about unconditional love and how to love other people's faults just as He loved us on the cross, and the way he loved and care for Judas, unconditionally.
If Jesus can forgive Judas for betraying him, it is certain we can forgive those who mistreat us, speak badly about us, and only seek to destroy us, no matter how hard the situation is.
It is our duty to serve Him, and shine a light unto those who need forgiveness and unconditional love, even if it's the hardest thing we will ever do. Try, and love them anyway.
Lord, I thank you for the person that's reading this message. I ask that you guard their heart and open their eyes through every struggle they face. If there be a person reading this who I have come in contact with, and I may not have displayed unconditional love like we are called to do, I ask that you forgive me, and bless that person immensely. Lord, I pray that you work in their lives and show them how to provide unconditional love to those that may have wronged them. Allow this reader to forgive those that have spoken badly on their name, so they may live in peace with that situation and it won't lead to a future mental battle. Bless the person who wants to tell their side of the story, but believes deep down that they won't get to, or that it won't make a difference. Lord, you know the truth, and you see this person's heart. Remind them that you are listening, and that you know. You knew even before it occurred, just as you knew Judas would betray you before it even occurred.
Lord, I give you the honor and the glory in everything. Allow me to always display unconditional love towards everyone, no matter how hard it is sometimes.
Lord. I ask all these things in your precious, holy name. Amen.
